A Brief Introduction

Born at Barnala, Punjab on December 25, 1931, Dr. Kewal Krishan Mittal had a chequered academic career, starting with a gold medal in M.A. (Philosophy) at Delhi University in 1956. Having spent few years at various government colleges in Punjab, he came back to Delhi to pursue his Ph.D. at Delhi University. His work on Role of Materialism in Indian Thought brought laurels, which was published by Delhi University as an exceptional example. Dr. Mittal taught as a lecturer in the Dept of Philosophy in 1960 and joined Dept of Buddhist Studies in 1969 as an Associate Professor. He became Professor in 1983 and was Head of the Department thrice before retiring in 1996. Professor…….
